ABOUT LOWES METALS
OUR HISTORY
Lowes Metals was originally founded in 1921 by Albert Lowe at Manor Road in Grays, Essex. Albert passed the business on to his two sons, Albert and Alan, and it has remained in the Lowe family ever since.
Now a 5th generation family business, Lowes Metals & Recycling continues to expand. In 2020 we moved to our present location, a larger 2 plus acre site in Stanford Le Hope. This purpose-built recycling centre, with millions of pounds invested in new machinery, has allowed us to continue with the growth of our operations, providing our customers with a state-of-the-art facility, and strengthening the business for many more generations to come.
From a small family business, to a multi-million pound facility employing over 20 staff, Lowes Metals & Recycling is looking forward to the next 100 years.
